Lahuen Ñadi

Lahuen Ñadi: Millennial Survivors An intimate hike through one of the ancient alerce forests of Chile's central valley that survived the last glacial period. It is a meaningful journey, ideal for those seeking to reconnect with and learn from this wonderful ecosystem.

There are forests that tell stories, but Lahuen Ñadi whispers them softly, as if not wanting them to be forgotten. This naturalist hike is an invitation to listen with all your senses.

The Los Carpinteros trail, made of earth and just 2 km long, crosses a dense and humid ecosystem, where the alerce trees—some over a thousand years old—stand as silent guardians of the past. In this corner of the central valley, on ñadi soils, grows one of the few alerce forests that survived logging and urban sprawl.

As you walk calmly, accompanied by a specialized guide, you will learn about the volcanic formation of these soils, the ecological processes that sustain the forest, and the importance of conserving these biodiversity relics.

The experience includes transportation from your accommodation, park entrance fee, snack, and naturalist guide. Everything you need to just feel, observe, and marvel.
