Lago Todos los Santos

Boat trip on Lago Todos los Santos —also known as Lago Esmeralda— through turquoise waters and mountains covered in forest.

It's not just a landscape: it's a route of ancient paths, shared stories, and a climate that changes without asking permission. Here the volcanoes escort us, the birds watch us from the shore, and the silence also speaks. If the wind allows, we pause at a hidden beach to share something delicious and feel the slow rhythm of this corner of the south.

Sailing on Lago Esmeralda —a name that many prefer to the more official “Todos los Santos”— is letting the rhythm of the water guide us through a territory where history, geology, and daily life intertwine.

The journey begins by motorboat from one of the lake's access points, and advances through turquoise green waters, surrounded by forest-covered mountains. If the sky is clear, the Osorno, Puntiagudo, and Tronador volcanoes can be seen. If not, the landscape becomes more intimate, with low clouds and a thick silence that envelops everything. This is what this place is like: unpredictable, but always alive.

During the tour, we share stories of the territory: how this lake was formed after ancient eruptions, how it was a route to Patagonia, and what it means for those who still live on its shores. Here tourism does not disguise reality, but rather reveals it.

Along the way, the wind may change, a brief rain may fall, or visibility may be diluted. We tell it like this, as is, because it is part of the experience. The important thing is to come prepared: appropriate clothing, good shoes, and a flexible attitude make the difference.

If conditions permit, we go down to a quiet beach. A place to take a deep breath, wet your feet, swim, or simply be. There we share a snack or lunch prepared with local products, always with love.

This is a simple experience, without great physical demands, but rich in observation, listening, and connection with the present. Because sailing on this lake is also a way of looking at the south with different eyes.
