Hike to Laguna Cuyutúe

Destino

Laguna Cayutúe

A naturalist hike along trails shaped by geology and the passage of livestock. We cross living forests, breathe the humid air of the estuary, and arrive at a hidden lagoon that reflects the landscape and history of this territory. Ideal for those seeking intimate contact with nature, even in the rain. Includes a local box lunch.

This experience is an immersive hike through a landscape where geology still breathes in silence. The volcanic field of the Liquiñe-Ofqui fault—which crosses a large part of southern Chile—shapes this territory that was once fire, and today is offered as a sanctuary of water and life.

We start from Ralún, on the shores of the Reloncaví Estuary, crossing a path modeled by the movements of the Earth and restored by vegetation. It is a walk with gentle slopes, accessible for all ages with autonomy when walking. Along the route, a surprising biodiversity is revealed: ferns of all sizes, velvety mosses, ancient lichens, and intensely colored flowers that dot the green of the forest.

Arriving at Laguna Cuyutúe is like discovering a well-kept secret. Its transparent waters reflect the clouds and surrounding vegetation, while soft dark sand beaches invite you to rest. There we share a local snack with flavors of the forest and the coast. Those who wish can cool off in the crystal clear waters, in an environment where the senses are sharpened and the silence becomes profound.
