Chaullín is a little-known island in the Gulf of Ancud, inhabited by stories, birds, and centuries-old forests of arrayán trees that grow by the sea.
During this journey, we cross by boat to its shell-covered beaches, walk among native trees that embrace each other for support, and share a meal lovingly prepared by people who still live off fishing and their connection to this land. A day to walk calmly, listen to local stories, and be touched by the real nature of southern Chile.
Visiting Chaullín Island is accepting an invitation to take a leisurely walk through a territory that holds a history that, over time, has become a legend. It is home to a forest of centuries-old arrayán trees, as beautiful as if it had been taken from a fairy tale.
Throughout the day, we will recognize signs of life: dirt paths used daily, an old house that still holds the echoes of its inhabitants, and trees that do not grow in isolation, but intertwined, as have the people who inhabit this island.
The departure begins from your accommodation and takes us by land to the coast, where we take a boat to cross to the island. The sea can be calm or somewhat choppy, and rain is always a possibility. Therefore, this experience invites you to come prepared: comfortable shoes, layered clothing, and a willingness to walk on wet terrain.
In Chaullín we take a soft, unhurried interpretive walk. We observe coastal birds, talk about the history of the place, and arrive at a beach where the sea leaves white shells and, if there is sun, the water turns turquoise. But even without sun, the landscape speaks: the colors of the moss, the song of the chucaos, the humidity on the skin.
We close the tour with a shared meal, prepared with local ingredients, by people who cook as they do at home: with what they have, with what they take care of, with love.
This experience is suitable for all ages and is designed for those who value what is real: nature as it is, the weather as it comes, and human encounters without a script.
